The Colosseum, the symbol of Rome and the largest amphitheater ever built by the ancient Romans for gladiator fights. It was commissioned by the emperor Vespasian at the end of the first century after Christ as a modern stadium. It could accommodate up to sixty thousand people and was used until the end of the imperial age. The private tour of the Colosseum lasts approximately 1hr. Immediately after you will enter the Palatine Hill area (Caesar Palace) to continue the tour to the Roman Forum. You will walk on the Sacred Way also called the Triumphal Route where the honorary Arches (Septimius Severus, Titus, Constantine), Temples dedicated to pagan deities (Saturn, Vespasian, Caesar, Castor & Pollux, Vesta) and Basilicas (Maxentius, Iulia, Aemilia) adorned the most important square of ancient Rome. The tour will end at Venice square.
Transfer to and from the Colosseum is not included in this tour, you will need to plan transportation to and from your walking tour. You will meet your tour guide in front of Hotel Forum – Via Tor de’ Conti, 25-30, 00184 Roma.

Colosseum is closed on 01May, 25Dec. Please note that for safety reasons the Coliseum can accommodate up to 3.000 people at once. This could lead to delays in access to the site, even for pre-booked visitors.
